In another 6 months, the total investment of the new factory is announced. However, Petrosetco and Itochu are expected to pour about US $ 80-100 million to build a factory with a capacity of 100 million liters of Ethanol per year from sliced ​​cassava. 99.8% of products will be supplied to the market to blend into gasoline as an additive.

The factory will be located in Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park, Ho Chi Minh City.

Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Trung Tin said that if the ratio of Ethanol blended into gasoline is 10%, the city needs about 100-150 million liters of raw materials per year. Ethanol production plant, if put into operation, will only provide 2/3 of the market demand, so the city leaders call on enterprises to invest in the second production point.

Deputy Minister of Industry Do Huu Hao also affirmed that the Government encourages businesses to participate in bioenergy production, including Ethanol, to enhance domestic clean energy.
