After three years of debate, the EU is preparing to legalize a rigorous bill to control the chemicals that exist in current consumer products and is suspected to be the source of many cancers for consumers.

As expected, delegates from EU member states will vote through a document on legislation to control chemicals used for the production of everyday products (textiles, detergents, grades surface coverings such as asphalt, household electronics, toys .).

According to lawmakers, thousands of chemical molecules in these products can be the cause of increased allergy, cancer or infertility, especially they are likely to survive. in a lifetime in the human body.

According to scientists, among about 100,000 chemicals circulating in the EU market, only 3,000 are studied for their effects on human health.

Under the new bill, EU companies are only allowed to produce or use chemicals in the manufacturing process after being commissioned by a specialized agency in Helsinki - responsible for conducting tests on safety - licensing the use of these chemicals. Companies with less than 10 tons per year do not need a chemical safety report.

The chemical industry in Europe has sales of 440 billion euros / year.
