Minister Hoang Van Phong received a delegation of officials from the International Atomic Energy Agency - IAEA
On December 11, 2006, in Hanoi, Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Van Phong had a meeting with the delegation led by Mr. Mohamed Elbaradei - IAEA Director General.
At the meeting, Minister Hoang Van Phong thanked IAEA for his support and effective support in the fields of human resource training, technology transfer, and how to develop legal documents. . for Vietnam's development of atomic energy for peaceful purposes; I hope to continue to receive more advice, assistance and support from the IAEA in building and operating the first raw electric factory in Vietnam.
Mr. Mohamed Albaradei thanked Minister for taking time to receive the delegation, sharing many valuable experiences related to the application of atomic energy for peaceful purposes. Mr. Elbaradei affirmed that atomic energy is a clean energy source, plays an important role in socio-economic development (especially in the agricultural and health sectors) of each country. Therefore, the application and development of atomic energy for peaceful purposes of Vietnam always receives the support and enthusiastic support of IAEA. According to him, Vietnam's Atomic Energy Law needs to be completed and approved soon to conform to the general provisions of the IAEA and international law.
