Excavation of the tomb dating back to 3000 years old

Archaeologists have excavated a grave dating to about 3000 years old in Luoyang, Henan Province, China.

This tomb was initially thought to belong to the Zhou Dynasty (the dynasty existed during the period 1122 - 221 BC).

It was found that the remains of five wooden chariots and 12 horses were buried around 770 BC.

This very well preserved tomb shows evidence of bronze as well as early ceramics of the Western Chu Dynasty.

Although it is much smaller than the famous terracotta army found in 1974 near Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, northwestern China, the tomb does not have any disturbance since buried also not subject to the devastation of grave thieves.

Archaeologists believe that the tomb owner is a great official in the court. Remnants of weapons, bronze, pottery, many pieces of leftover jade and writing are testament to that.

In addition, the excavation process also brought many interesting discoveries to historians about funeral customs and rituals in the early West Zhou period. In particular, the most valuable discovery so far is the full set of horse and horse carriages with different shapes and sizes.

Archaeologists believe that the sign on the side of the horse shows that people killed them before burying, rather than being buried alive.

At that time, large-scale irrigation projects were established throughout China and the national writing system continued to grow. It was also the time of famous Chinese philosophers such as Confucius, Manh Tu, Trang Tu.
