The new recommendation of the US National Academy of Sciences (NAS) could drastically change future space flights, in the search for life elsewhere in the solar system.

The report concludes that scientists must consider expanding the list of life-defining features, including " strange " life forms that Earth's organisms do not have. Rather than just digging into the Martian soil, since there were traces of water there, the NAS asked probes to search for Saturn's Titan moon, which also had sea of ​​methane or ethane.

In fact, the report concludes that Titan is the strongest candidate in the solar system with strange life.

"In a carbon world, there will be a lot of different compounds there, and there will probably be carbon compounds that make up life," said John Baross, the team leader.
