Find a burp of 'green' sheep

In herbivores, when they burp the digestive system, they release a lot of greenhouse gases. Scientists are looking for ways to create new, more environmentally friendly varieties.

New South Wales and Australian researchers said on November 29 that they are looking for genetic factors that make some burnt sheep slightly less.

According to the New South Wales Investment and Industry Agency, the amount of toxic methane produced by animals such as sheep, goats, and cattle discharged through burial roads accounts for about 16% of Australia's pollution emissions. Methane is a 17 times higher greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide.

Scientists hope to develop a 'green' sheep that releases less methane gas in the future.
