Fishing the giant swordfish, weighing the largest 4-pound weights in Australia

A group of Australian fishermen catch the biggest Australian swordfish from the ocean, weighing more than 4 quintals.

According to News.com.au, George Lirantzis and three friends caught 436.2kg off Mallacoota, south of New South Wales-Victoria.

The swordfish weighs more than 4 weights, the largest ever in Australia.

In order to catch this monster swordfish, the fishermen have to use bait weighing up to 60kg. The swordfish, when you bite, jumps up, jumps off the water near the boat.

'The more we pull it closer to the boat, the more it jumps and jumps down, like someone dropping a rocket around a boat, ' Lirantzis told ABC News.

Fishermen display huge trophies that they can catch.

'The swordfish is very strong in search of a chance to escape, but in the end we subjugated it.'

This is the largest giant swordfish in Australia so far. Last year, a Melbourne man caught a 349kg swordfish also in this area.

The record of the world's largest giant swordfish was recorded off the northern coast of Chile in 1953. The swordfish then weighed 536.15kg.

The weighted sword "is equivalent to a rocket".

Lirantzis and his team last year also had a memorable experience, when they found giant swordfish weighing 347kg.

The Australian Fishing Association (GFAA) has not yet confirmed this new record because Lirantzis and his team have not yet provided the necessary information.

GFAA requires fishermen to provide detailed information, including the length of the net used, the exact size of the fish, as well as fishing and boat licenses.
