The Arkup 50 floating house features height-adjustable legs that help it rise above the waves, along with many other amenities.
The Arkup 50 floating house is equipped with a height-adjustable leg system that helps it rise above the waves, along with many other amenities .
The Arkup 50 is part of the Livable Yacht series from Florida-based Arkup, which allows residents to live completely off the grid. The home is 50 feet long and has a maximum floor area of 2,06 square feet depending on options. Its exterior features large floor-to-ceiling windows and a folding deck option that provides additional outdoor space, according to New Atlas .

Like the previous Arkup version, the floating house features anchoring and stabilization technology. It uses not only a hydraulic system but also four motorized pillars that can retract to lift the house out of the water. This design provides stability for people who suffer from seasickness, but is not effective in the middle of the ocean, so it requires a relatively shallow location due to the 6.7 m length of the pillars.
The Arkup 50 has a host of other technologies, including the Starlink internet system . A desalination plant produces water and a 12 kW photovoltaic array is connected to a 75 kW battery to meet electricity needs. Residents can add a 67 kW integrated electric propulsion motor to move the house. Four versions of the Arkup 50 can be placed side by side to form a floating island.
The interior is airy and light-filled, with the main floor devoted to the living room, which has a sound system and large TV screen, along with a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. The bathroom has a toilet, sink and bathtub. The bedroom is also spacious. The Arkup 50's upper deck is covered with solar panels and has a small kitchen, a four-person hot tub, seating and additional sound system. The Arkup 50 will be on display at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show from October 30 to November 3.
