Considered a new achievement in the field of recycling, instead of letting CO 2 in the atmosphere, the US automaker has found a solution to "trap" CO 2 , then recycle, create polyols and plastic.

Thanks to this method, Ford could reduce the use of petroleum to 300 thousand tons per year, equivalent to about 600 million pounds.

These new materials are classified as biological materials , meaning differently depending on the industry that uses them.

Currently, Ford is the only car manufacturer to develop mattresses from this bio-material . The company says the mattress meets car standards, can be used as a chair or some under the hood.

According to the British Plastics Federation, plastic production accounts for about 4% of worldwide use of petroleum. But plastics made from oil are difficult to recycle, not high strength.
