With superior advantages and practicality, the frozen biological model robotic system at temperatures below 0 degrees C has been selected for the MacRobert Annual Technical Awards finals - awards for properties. Technological and technological products of the Royal British Academy of Technology.
With Polar robot system, scientists can access biological samples more quickly and conveniently than today. (Artwork: nibib.nih.gov) The Automation Partnership Polar robot system is designed, including devices containing blood samples, urine samples and robotic arms used to retrieve and store these samples. The container is cooled with nitrogen solution, so researchers do not have to enter the freezing zone to sample.
Currently Polar robot system has been used in pharmaceutical companies and British Biology Bank (Biobank), where researchers intend to collect samples and data from more than 500,000 volunteers to help research. Common diseases that threaten human life are cancer, heart disease and diabetes. This system is now ready to store data of more than 100,000 people.
Other products to the finals The MacRobert Prize is the world's first commercial electronic hand i-Limb, soot filter for diesel engines and silicon sensors that can detect explosives and chemicals toxic. The MacRobert award will be announced on July 9.
