Gaim: Chat application 'all in one'

If you feel that the daily chat interface is a bit boring, try Gaim, which integrates almost all of the most popular chat applications today.

Gaim integrates with nine of the most popular chat programs today, including Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, Gadu-Gadu, GroupWise, IRC, Jabber, Napster, Silc. Unfortunately, Gaim has not yet integrated Google Talk to become almost 100% 'All in One' chat tool, but with the above 9 chat programs it seems to be enough for chat lovers.

Once you have successfully activated Gaim for the first time, your job is to 'Add' to Gaim all your chat accounts. When you want to chat, simply select the account name you want to use and press 'Sign on' as Gaim will take you right to its own chat interface and still be perfectly compatible with external chat applications.

If compared with each specific chat application, Gaim does not match with the level of depth, but it also provides all basic features such as text decoration, Send file, smiley . List ' Gaim's Buddy List 'also lists all the status of other chat friends in a way that is much more fancy than the original program.

Gaim's most unique creation is tabular chat, which means all chat windows will be integrated into exactly one window, similar to Firefox, Opera, Maxthon's tabbed browsing . In case you want to chat with 2 different nick at the same time, Gaim will be a great alternative to the original chat app. You just chat in Gaim and chat in the original chat program.
