Gateway recalled 14,000 batteries with a risk of fire

Gateway has officially announced the recall of nearly 14,000 lithium ion laptop batteries with its 400VTX and 450ROG series of laptops shipped during the period from May to August 2003.

President Kay also implied that, even with large-scale battery recalls like Dell's recall of 4.1 million battery products, the number of incidents such as battery explosion due to The heat source generated by the computer operation is still small. So small manufacturers like Gateway seem to take years to realize the problem.

In October 2006, Gateway also conducted a recall of approximately 35,000 batteries from Sony Energy Devices.

With this second recall, Gateway recommends that customers contact computer distribution agents to check if the battery they are using is in the package with the number 6500760 or 6500761 (code number). This is printed on the bottom of the battery.)

Only those batteries in the range of numbers that are valid for recovery, because Gateway also uses packaged battery products from other manufacturers.
