Germany has built the world's longest-running combined-diving submarine with a two-week record, according to Navysaid.
The U32 high-tech submarine, U212A, has made an underwater voyage from Eckernforerde in Germany to Rota in Spain from 11 to 25 April, according to German news agency DPA.
The submarine has a combined propulsion system made of an electric motor that receives electricity from the battery to burn hydrogen. The capabilities of the push system have been proven in the journey.
U32 submarines are used to protect the Strait of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean as part of the fight against terrorism, according to the DPA.
The DPA adds, " Combined power ships have the ability to be virtually invisible and do not emit any emissions ."
