Google continues to dominate the search market
According to recent research by market research firm ComScore Networks, Google continues to dominate the search market in the US for 10 consecutive months, while other competitors still stumble.
Google's market share increased by 1% since April 2006 - reaching 44.1%. Second is Yahoo (27.9%), the third is Microsoft MSN (12.9%). The market share of these two companies has remained unchanged without any change in the past few months.
In the search market, only Google has a growth in market share over the past year, up 6.6% over the same period last year (June 2005); while Yahoo fell 2.2% and MSN fell 2.3%.
Also in another ComScore Networks report, Americans made about 7.4 billion search queries in May 2006 only, up 12% from the previous April. Although MySpace.com was first launched last month, it also ranked sixth with a 0.7% market share; while Google and Yahoo continue to dominate the search market with market shares of 49.1% and 46.2%, respectively.
