Lade has been applied in Vietnamese medicine since the 80s of the last century. However, most laser devices currently used in hospitals are imported products at very expensive prices.

Since technology cannot be mastered, every failure must depend on a foreign expert, so the warranty and repair are very time-consuming and costly.

Given that situation, the Department of Science and Technology of Hanoi assigned the research team of the Department of Health Laser Technology, Laser Technology Center to carry out the topic " Researching the technology of design and assembly of some devices Laser used in hospitals in Hanoi City ".

The team working with the project leader, engineer Le Thi Kim Dung has successfully fabricated three laser devices in the medical industry including: laser CO 2 surgery with a capacity of 45W for surgical, dermatological and gynecological surgery. , hemorrhoids, urology, ENT, aesthetic .; 50mW HeNe therapy laser, widely used in many specialties such as physiotherapy, rehabilitation, orthopedic, cardiovascular injury .; 4.5W infrared semiconductor laser used very effectively in surgery, acupuncture, anti-ulcer, dentistry.

Compared with existing products in the market, laser devices manufactured by the project team have many advantages such as: CO 2 -45W laser device designed to add parts to digital cameras, helping to increase the ability to monitor the surgical field and minimize unwanted effects caused by the laser.

The HeNe 50mW laser device is designed to add a beam element to transmit and adjust the cross-section of the laser beam to the patient's area of treatment, replacing the optical fiber that must be imported at a high cost. Moreover, the beam beamer has advantages over long-time use, suitable for treating patients to stay fixed.

Engineer Le Thi Kim Dung said: Vietnam's climate is hot and humid, so imported equipment is often broken, the cost for each repair is very high. Therefore, the idea of researching and mastering equipment, improving to suit the climate conditions in Vietnam, contributing to reducing equipment costs, reducing treatment costs .
