Great robot war will happen in 2016
Perhaps after the defeat to the US team at the Women's World Cup, the Japanese want to regain their honor.
Japanese robots accept the challenge, the robot war will take place in 2016
Not long ago, American inventors created a 4.5m-tall robot with the name Megabot and made a challenge to Japan 's giant robot Kuratas . After receiving the challenge, the Japanese side announced its acceptance and an unprecedented robot battle would occur. Perhaps after the defeat to the US team at the Women 's World Cup , the Japanese want to regain their honor.
Suidobashi Heavy Industry introduced a video instead of claiming to accept its challenge. In the video, CEO Kogoro Kurata said 'We can't let another country win, giant robots are part of Japan's culture'.
In the future, the two sides will agree on the rules in this great battle, including the way of competition, scoring, time and place.
While Megabot of the United States is larger in size and equipped with a cannons of paint guns, Kuratas is smaller but has flexibility thanks to the wheels on the feet. Mr. Kurata also suggested that this should be a duel and both sides would not use weapons.
Even the Japanese CEO challenged Americans, arguing that Megabot relied only on larger sizes and an oversized gun to prevail.
Japanese robots have accepted America's challenge.
According to information from the US inventors, this robot battle could happen in 2016 and take place in the US. Both sides will have about a year to improve their robots and get the most out of the rules.
The US said it would upgrade Megabot to the Mark II version with larger size and weight, which would make it difficult for a smaller robot like Kuratas to take it down. However, if it is a form of scoring like boxing, everything may be different, Kuratas's flexible mobility will help it gain the advantage.
