Growing giant pumpkins, weighing nearly 1 ton

The twins Ian Paton and Stuart Paton have just released a giant pumpkin masterpiece weighing nearly 1 ton, causing a fever in England.

Hopefully, the pumpkin will break the pumpkin record last year. Last year, the 684kg big pumpkin of the two Paton brothers living in Pennington, Hamshire lost the title of British record. They dreamed of planting a 914kg pumpkin someday.

Ian said they estimated that this year's pumpkin weighs more than 720kg, more than 4.8m in circumference.

The Paton brothers planted this pumpkin in April and looked after it very carefully. They planted 7 pumpkins in the hope of having more chances to break records, but now there is only one giant pumpkin growing.

In 2008, two brothers Ian and Stuart Paton planted pumpkins weighing over 655kg, setting a European record. Three years ago, they planted a pumpkin weighing over 450kg, 60 times the size of a normal pumpkin and as heavy as a Fiat 500 car, within 110 days.
