Ho Chi Minh City discovered 2 Chinese people infected with corona virus

Chinese father and son treated at Cho Ray Hospital were positive for nCoV virus, the first case of pneumonia recorded in Vietnam.

On the evening of January 23, representatives from Cho Ray Hospital confirmed that two patients who were positive for the nCoV virus were Mr. Li Ding, born in 1954 and son Li Zichao , born in 1992. The father and son had contracted acute pneumonia. Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son was in emergency at Cho Ray Hospital in the night to direct the prevention of spreading diseases.

Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Sang, Department of Tropical Diseases, said Mr. Li Ding from Wuhan City (where nCoV pneumonia originated) came to Hanoi on January 13, then moved to Nha Trang. His son from Long An 4 months ago, went to Nha Trang to meet his father, then continued to go to Ho Chi Minh City and Long An. On January 17, Dad started to have a fever and on January 20, he had similar symptoms. Father and son were taken to Cho Ray Hospital on the evening of January 22.

"This is a very serious infection problem , " Deputy Minister Son emphasized.

Treated by the MOH regimen, the current status of 2 patients is stable, antipyretic, edible.

The two patients have moved to many localities, by means of airplanes, trains, taxis, and contact with many people so the possibility of spreading the disease is very likely.

Cho Ray Hospital implements a process of isolation for prevention and control of the entire hospital. All suspected fevers related to the nCoV virus in the Examination and Emergency Department must be tested.

A representative of the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City said that the test results usually take 4-6 hours, so it is necessary to expand the screening area so that the disease cannot spread.
