Non-energy house (NZERTF)
Called "non-energy" (NZERTF) because it mostly uses renewable energy sources obtained by itself.
NZERTF house consists of 2 floors, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. Solar water heating systems and other activities are also provided by the photovoltaic system. In actual testing, in the first year, the house was uninhabited.
The lighting system will be turned on and off at specified times; Hot water is also activated. Some small devices when operating will also emit the same temperature and humidity as having a human presence.
Photovoltaic PV system is used to serve the house, when excess energy will be connected to the local electricity network via a smart meter. In contrast, when the battery system is low, the grid will support. However, it is expected that the support is lower than the contribution.
According to Gizmag magazine, the NZERTF family was put into operation in mid-September, the data collected will be posted on the internet for researchers and the public to monitor its progress.
