Although often mistaken for unidentified flying objects (UFOs), lenticular clouds form at the lowest level of the atmosphere when wet air flows regularly over a mountain range and heads downwards on the other side. The mountain acts as a rock in the middle of the stream, causing the air to move in wave form on both sides. As the air moves upward, the steam is cold and condensed on top of the wave stream, forming a fixed disk cloud.(Photo: Facebook).

Passenger plane pilots often avoid the cloud this way because the rotation of the upward airflow can disturb the flight operation. But the controller of the roller coaster often looked for them by the air that helped their roller coaster soar.(Photo: Etna Walk).
