Hypervelocity is kicked out of the Milky Way at the fastest speed in the universe
Astronomers detected a hypervelocity star called S5-HVS1 away
The star is moving fast enough that it leaves the Milky Way and shoots into the vast space between large galaxies in the universe. The velocity of Cv5-HVS1 is so high that it has certainly been leaving the galaxy and never returning. This is part of the statement of Dr. Douglas Boubert, an astronomer at Oxford University.
The hypervelocity star called S5-HVS1 "travels" "out of the Milky Way at an incredible speed - 2.3 million miles per hour.(Image source: Space).
The star is now about 29,000 light-years away, in the constellation Grus but astronomers have followed the path of travel and found that it begins its journey from the center of the galaxy.
At the center of the Milky Way is a supermassive black hole called Sagittarius A * , which scientists believe is the black hole that kicked the S5-HVS1 star away from the system at super speed.
"This statement is extremely interesting because scientists have long suspected that black holes could kick stars at very high speeds , " said Dr. Serge Koposov, a researcher at Carnegie Mellon University. in the statement . "However, we have never had such a clear, detailed view," Dr. Serge Koposov said.
