If young hackers have a healthy playground

That playground, possibly a security club led by experts, will help young hackers to raise awareness and legal knowledge .

In the original sense, hackers are extremely good computer experts in programming and network security. These experts discovered security vulnerabilities and proposed remedies. Their work laid the foundation for the development of the computer security industry, some security companies were born with the participation of such hackers. Can call this the first generation hacker.

The breakdowns of 'new soldiers' increased rapidly

The general moral principle of the first generation hacker community is the sharing of technical information. Every act that causes damage is considered a non-standard for true hackers.

However, gradually the hackers differentiate, some people conduct actions to sabotage, extort money, steal data, money . From there forming the concept of dividing hackers into three groups: white hat, hat black and gray hat.

White-hat hackers detect security vulnerabilities with the goal of 'patching' those holes. When detecting vulnerabilities, they provide information about security flaws to the person responsible for managing the website for the purpose of helping. They can also be hacked by hiring companies into the intranet or website to check the security level.

Picture 1 of If young hackers have a healthy playground Gray hat hackers can also act because of money when detecting vulnerabilities. However, they want to search for reputation so they often put it online or press the security errors they discovered.

Black hat hackers infiltrate a system that intentionally destroys the network or makes money illegally.

The real hackers are super experts in security. Almost no website can dare to guarantee 100% against their attacks. These hackers often write their own tools to overcome security barriers. They have the ability to drive every system, regardless of their protection. In fact, in the US, the US Department of Defense website, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or the Microsoft software giant can all be compromised.

To be recognized by international hackers is very difficult. Most recent vandalism in Vietnam is usually caused by people that hackers call 'newbie' or 'script kiddies' or 'packet monkeys', which is basically 'newcomer'. Unlike hackers, 'newcomers' are not qualified to write their own tools. They use the utilities written by others and are available online to detect website vulnerabilities and attack. Their skills are only normal but because the tools are so much available, the number of 'new soldiers' is increasing and their level of destruction is quite dangerous.

With the current lax security situation, if the former hackers are (and are hackers abroad) hand out, the level of damage will be unpredictable.

Need to patch 'holes' in the head

The incident of the Ministry of Education and Training website was attacked, showing that the security situation is still quite loose of many websites in Vietnam in general and in the system of State agencies in particular. The reason is not only the vulnerability lies on the website but also in the head, the perception of the people involved.

Not now is the state of sabotage and new cybercrime rising. From 2000-2001, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper has issued a few warnings about lax security conditions that hackers stole Internet passwords from the Internet.

In 2002, at the Hacker VN Festival, some white-hat hackers said they had discovered and contacted the website management units but most of their warnings fell silent.

Around 2004, there was a situation of stealing credit card codes (often called CC temples). The use of CC temples is so widespread that Vietnam is almost isolated from the world of e-commerce because credit card transactions from Vietnam are rejected.

Since 2005, many serious website attacks have occurred, including a number of cases by Turkish hacker groups as the culprits.

The network security centers such as VSEC, BKIS, VNCERT . continuously give warnings about the lack of security in the website system of the State and businesses, but the vulnerabilities are still slowly overcome.

The root cause is that too many holes in the website originate from the subjectivity of those who are in charge of management. An education official said that he thought 'the Ministry of Education and Training website, who broke it'. It can be said that these are security holes originating from the perception of the website manager.

With the hack tool provided rampant, young people are also curious to try it out, especially when the security error is exposed. If young people get healthy playgrounds, the attacks will be reduced, such as security clubs led by experts. Thus, both directing students to security technology to help the society, while helping them raise their awareness, avoid the gaps in legal knowledge.
