HCM City Hi-tech Park Management Board has inaugurated a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 5000m 3 / day / night, serving the wastewater treatment needs of enterprises on September 10.
This is a key infrastructure project of the High-Tech Park (KCNC), which helps to ensure a favorable investment environment and is consistent with the city's policy in socio-economic development in parallel with protection. environment.

Started construction in 2004, on an area of 3ha, with a total investment of more than VND74 billion from the state budget, the project mentioned above has two basic objectives: To ensure the collection of waste water from socks all sources in phase 1 of the high-tech zone include production wastewater, domestic wastewater, and wastewater from laboratories - trial production; Thoroughly treat wastewater of Vietnamese environmental standards before discharging it into Go Cong river (Long Thanh My ward, District 9).
The method applied to wastewater treatment for KCNC is a physicochemical method combined with biological method using activated sludge.
Items of wastewater treatment plant project (WWTP) include: operator and wastewater treatment tank, sewage collection line, waste water treatment equipment, ecological lake, electricity and water treatment system .
Currently, after the trial operation process, WWTP has achieved 1/5 capacity, ie 1000m 3 / day / night with treated wastewater reaching Class A TCVN5945: 2005 (good standard of Vietnamese environment wastewater).

Mr. Le Thai Hy - Head of Industrial Zone Management Board said: During the construction of the WWTP project, enterprises in the Industrial Zone have made deep comments, so that the project can meet the actual operation requirements of the enterprise. career.
The collection of waste water from enterprises focusing on WWTP after preliminary treatment at the units will contribute to the more effective management of the environment in the IZ and improve the quality of the technical infrastructure at HTC, creating opportunities to attract more new investors in the future.
In the first 8 months of 2009, KCNC has licensed 04 new projects with a total investment of 86.8 million USD, bringing the total number of investment projects in KCNC to 38 projects with a total investment of 1.729 million USD, attracting nearly 8500 employees.
Total export turnover in the first 6 months of 2009 reached 90,862,962 USD, of which the export value of the second quarter was 56,890,063 USD, increased by 59% compared to the first quarter of 2009 and increased by 155% compared to the same period of 2008 (22,345). .242USD), paying 30 billion VND to the State budget.
It is expected that by the end of 2009, KCNC will grant 02 new projects to reach 150 million US dollars.
