Inauguration of Vietnam's largest wind power plant
On January 17, 2016, in Bac Lieu city, the inauguration ceremony of the largest wind power plant in Bac Lieu province in our country was held.
The central and local delegates cut the ribbon inaugurating the Bac Lieu Wind Power Plant project.
Bac Lieu Wind Power Plant, invested by Cong Ly Construction - Trading - Tourism Co., Ltd., is constructed on the coast of Bac Lieu with all the turbines placed along the East Sea dike, pulling long from Nha Mat ward to the boundary of Soc Trang province and the total area of about 1,300 ha.
The factory construction project was officially started on September 9, 2010. After 5 years of implementation, the project was completed, the plant achieved a capacity of 99.2 MW and an annual production volume of about 320 million KWh. The total investment of the project is VND 5,217 billion, equal to the investor's own capital and the State's investment credit loan.
Each turbine cylinder ( turning wind energy into electricity ) has a height of 82.5 m, 4 m in diameter, made of special stainless steel and manufactured in the United States. The turbine has 3 propellers with a length of 42 m each, made of special plastic, has a control system to help the propeller fold itself when meeting bad weather such as a big storm in accordance with level III wind regime in the area. coastal area of Bac Lieu province. This is a wind turbine supplied by General Electric Corporation of the United States with advanced technology being widely applied in the world.

With a capacity of nearly 100 Mega-oat (99.2 MW exactly), Bac Lieu Wind Power Plant is the largest wind power plant in our country today.
What is unique about the wind power plant construction project is that even during construction, every wind turbine installed can be connected and connected to the national grid; immediately promote investment efficiency. Calculated from the first wind turbine cylinder to be connected to the national grid in May 2013 until the time of inauguration of the project in January 2016 recently, the total electricity output is connected to the national grid during the construction investment construction is 130 million KWh of electricity, revenue from electricity sales is 150 billion, contributing 15 billion VND to the budget.
Bac Lieu Wind Power Plant has not stopped developing here. Following the inauguration of the past period, the investor will promote the pre-feasibility report to implement the next phase with 71 new wind turbine pillars (type 2MW / pole) and a total capacity of 142 MW, Total estimated investment is 8,850 billion VND, implementation period is 36 months. It is expected that by the end of 2018, construction will be completed and all new turbines will be put into operation and integrated into the National Grid system.
In our country, in addition to Bac Lieu, Binh Thuan province with the advantage of stretching along the coast in recent years has also promoted wind power construction projects. Tuy Phong project in Binh Thuan has connected the national electricity network of phase 1 with 20 wind power towers (turbines) with a column height of 85 m, a rotor diameter of 77 m, a capacity of 1.5 MW / turbine; ie total capacity of 30 MW. Another smaller project in Binh Thuan is the Phu Quy Island Wind Power Project with 3 turbines, a total capacity of 6 MW has been installed and tried to operate safely and normally. Phu Quy wind power source, when officially merging into the current of the existing diesel power plant in the island, Phu Quy island will have electricity 24 hours a day. Although starting early, the development of wind power in Binh Thuan province has slowed down and lagged behind the province of Bac Lieu.
Thus, up to now and maybe in some years to come, Bac Lieu is still a province with clean electricity - the biggest wind power in our country.
