With a capital of up to 1.9 billion pounds (about 3 billion USD) invested by Dong Energy Group (Denmark), E.On (Germany) and Masdar (UAE), London Array officially passed the project. Greater Gabbard wind power with a capacity of 500MW is located off England's East Anglian coast to become the world's largest wind farm.

According to experts' estimates, the London Array maple farm will help Britain reduce 925,000 tons of CO2 each year.

Currently, wind farms in the UK have a total capacity of more than 3.6GW and the "fog country" is expected to raise this number to 18GW by 2020.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, British Prime Minister David Cameron stressed that this was a memorable day for Britain and a great victory for the renewable energy sector.

According to Cameron, London Array has shown that Britain can build large-scale renewable energy projects because it has one of the most transparent investment environments in the world.
