Inauguration of Hon Me Wildlife Rescue Station
The Wildlife Protection Organization (WAR) has just launched the Hon Me Rescue Station, to prioritize the rescue of rare and precious animal species in the Mekong Delta.

According to WAR, the rescue station has a total area of nearly 3 hectares, in Hon Dat district, Kien Giang province. Here, animals will be taken care of by WAR staff, restoring wild instincts and ready to be released to nature.
Mr. Le Thanh Binh, Director of Kien Giang Forest Protection Department said that the operation of the newly established Rescue Station aims to help the current urgent wild species of the Mekong Delta region.
"We are committed to co-operating with WAR to operate the Hon Me Wildlife Rescue Station to protect endangered animals", Mr. Binh said in the day of establishment of the station last weekend.
So far, Hon Me Wildlife Rescue Station has saved nearly 50 rare and precious species such as Urus theibetanus, dog bear (Urus malayanus), yellow cheeked gibbon (Nomascus gabriella), pig-tailed monkey (Macaca arctoides). ), small loris (Nycticebus pygmaeus), Java pangolin (Manis javanica). In the future, the station will receive more species such as snakes, turtles, small carnivores.
