Indonesia: Great earthquake again in Java

Yesterday morning (December 2), an earthquake occurred in Indonesia's Java island. Indonesia's meteorological and geophysical agency said earthquakes are not at risk of causing tsunamis. There is no information about damage or casualties.

' We did not issue a tsunami warning ,' said Jajat Jatmika, an official with the Indonesian Meteorological and Geophysical Agency. The official also said the earthquake was most clearly felt at Pelabuhan Ratu, but there is no information about damage or casualties.

Earlier, on the morning of December 1, another 6.3-magnitude earthquake rocked Aceh province on Sumatra island. This area was heavily damaged by earthquakes and tsunamis in 2004, with more than 170,000 people killed.
