Indonesia suffers from a mild earthquake
An undersea earthquake rocked Indonesia's Moluccas archipelago yesterday, but officials said its intensity was only moderate and there was no risk of a tsunami.
The epicenter of the earthquake lies on the sea floor of Arafura, 144 km southwest of Tual Island and in the east of East Timor.

"The tsunami warning has been canceled. The earthquake's epicenter is 33 km deep in the seabed. Its intensity is 5.4 Richter scale," Subagio, an official at the national meteorological agency, said. said.
Previously, the national meteorological agency announced that the seismic intensity was 6.4 Richter.
"People ran out of the house and some were still standing outside. The earthquake was not strong but people were afraid that there would be tsunamis," said Ahmad Bugis, an official at the national oil company Pertamina at Tual Island. said.
