Intel is about to launch a low-cost Core 2 Duo chip
It is expected that next month Intel will release a low-cost mobile Core 2 Duo T5200 dual-core processor chip.
This move by Intel to respond to the needs of Taiwanese laptop manufacturers. However, this step has never been included in the development process of Intel's mobile processor chip.
The DigiTime newspaper reported that the ultimate goal of launching Intel's T5200 processor chip is to consolidate its position in the Taiwan market. The new move also helped Intel ensure a competitive balance with AMD's Turion 64 X2 processor line.
The Core 2 Duo T5200 mobile processor chip will have the same technical characteristics as the T5500 with 2MB of L2 cache.
According to Intel's development of Core 2 Duo chip, in the first quarter of next year, the manufacturer will also release Core 2 Duo chip for desktop computers.
