Second quarter Intel released the new dual-core Celeron chip
Information from a number of motherboard manufacturers said that Intel expects to launch a number of new microprocessor chips under dual-core Celeron E1000 Series dual-core processors in the second quarter of this year.
Specifically, chip products are expected to be released including E1400 2Ghz 800MHz FSB 512KB L2 Cache with a maximum TDP of 65W. The chip is manufactured on a 65-nanometer technology line that uses Conroe core architecture and supports Intel 64 XD Bit, Speed Step technology. Reference price is 53 USD.
In the first quarter of 2008, dual-core Celeron E1200 and Celeron 440, 430 and 420-core chips assumed the function of keeping Intel's position in the market of low-cost microprocessor chips. In the second quarter when E1400 appeared, this chip will replace the position of E1200, continue to keep the market with 440 and 430. Intel will stop producing E1200 and 420.
Intel expects to completely replace the single-core Celeron chip with Dual-core Celeron.
Intel's representative did not have any comment on the above information but said it would continue to support single-core Celeron chips according to the needs and requirements of customers.
