Iran built a new generation uranium enrichment centrifuge

Reuter led a statement by Iranian Vice President in charge of the national nuclear energy issue on Sept. 22, saying Iran has built a new generation centrifuge to enrich uranium.

According to the statement, Iranian scientists have studied, built a new generation centrifuge and are currently conducting necessary tests, and Iranian researchers are also seeking to increase size of this new centrifuge model.

According to statistics from the end of August, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the number of centrifuges deployed at the uranium enrichment plant in Natanze in Central Iran has increased to more than 1,000 total elevators. Iran's nationwide number of centrifuges reached 8,300 units, while this figure was only 7,000 in June.

The Iranian government has repeatedly stated that Iran needs to own 50,000 centrifuges so that every year it can secure fuel for its future nuclear power plants.

Meanwhile, the United States and a number of Western countries have always made statements accusing Iran of using nuclear power for peaceful purposes to research and develop illegal nuclear weapons.

Regarding this issue, the UN Security Council has issued five resolutions and applied sanctions to Iran, and demanded that the country abandon its uranium enrichment program. However, Iran insists that its nuclear program is only aimed at meeting the growing demand for energy and electricity in the country, without any other purpose.
