Is it possible to open the plane when flying?

If you can win a force equivalent to 3-4 tons, you can completely open the plane door to catch the wind on 9 clouds.

If you can win a force equivalent to 3-4 tons, you can completely open the plane door to catch the wind on 9 clouds.

Pilot Ron Wagner, who worked for the US Air Force, answered questions on:

Once in my flight, a young flight attendant rushed to the cockpit to inform the passenger trying to open the plane's escape. That hostess couldn't stop him, so he went to ask for help. We laughed loudly, and said there was no need to worry, because what he was trying to do was unbelievable.

In midair, the emergency exit door will be locked by 3-4 tons of pressure. Even if the aircraft has not taken off and the press is opened, the pressure remains at 180-360kg. Pressure regulators are used when on the ground to prevent visitors from having eardrum perforation due to pressure changes. With a pressure of about 700kg / m 2 , it is not necessary to stop that passenger even when the plane is still on the ground.

Compared to the main doors, the plane's exit door has a simpler design , which can be easily unlocked from the inside. However, the pressure difference makes simple opening work impossible.

Civil aircraft doors are specially designed.(Photo: Remy Gabalda).

Civil aircraft doors are designed very smart. During the next flight, try carefully observing the plane door and the operation mechanism. When closed, the door will slide toward the inside of the cabin, then fasten to the door frame, forming a safety lock. The design of the airline applies physical laws to keep the door closed.

Without this design, with thousands of aircraft being used every day for decades, it is inevitable that the door of the aircraft will be flipped. From what I know, since the introduction of the mechanical door lock system, there has been no record of the door launching while the aircraft is operating.

This design is not always used for aircraft door systems. The DC-10's luggage compartment door is an example. They use a locking mechanism like the one used in banks. It is an extremely solid and secure locking system, but it does not have much effect when inside the cabin contains thousands of hand luggage. And some doors didn't pass this challenge.

One of the accidents is the case of falling in a plane in flight 981 of Turkish Airlines. The door behind the luggage compartment was blown away due to the unbearable pressure lock frame (MD aircraft design was not as good as Boeing). The lock on the floor does not hold the door frame. The pilots in the cockpit have no way to control the situation, and the plane goes down. Passengers can only pray in vain when the plane falls.

After the accident, the door lock system was redesigned, no longer the plane door was blown away like the case of DC-10 and MD-11 aircraft. However, after this incident, they realized that the design of the DC-10 was not safe enough to carry people. They are currently only used to transport goods.
