IVF fertilization is easy to give birth to a son

Several IVF techniques are contributing to an increase in the proportion of boys, researchers have just revealed. In particular, in some methods, there are 128 corresponding boys for every 100 girls, while the natural balance of 100 girls is over 105 boys.

According to Capitabay News , Australian researchers, who discovered this, believe that IVF can affect the sex ratio.

Although the researchers have not yet specified the cause, they may somehow be able to survive better on the embryos of boys.

They also recommend that more research is needed on this issue to ensure gender balance, as the number of births by IVF is increasing.

Professor Michael Chapman, head of the research team at the University of New South Wales, said they have ruled out the possibility of doctors interfering with sex selection when fertilizing. This is the result of test tube techniques.

The team studied all cases of babies born to survive thanks to standard in vitro fertilization (egg and sperm meeting outside the body, in vitro) at hospitals in Australia and New Zealand. From 2002 to 2006. They also compared this method of fertilization with how to inject sperm directly into the egg, a variation of in vitro fertilization.

Accordingly, more than 13,000 children were born through embryo transplantation. The rate of babies born is boys accounting for 51.3%, nearly equal to the rate in nature.

However, in the standard IVF method, male birth rates are up to 53%, and the direct injection of sperm into the egg is only 50%.
