Japan is the place to produce the most 'top' denim

Denim is the oldest cloth material in the world.

Through the 2-minute video below, you will better understand the process of making the best quality denim fabric in the world at the leading garment factories in Japan such as The Flat Head, Fullcount, Japan Blue, Rampuya and Iron Heart.

Denim is the oldest cloth material in the world. Oddly, it stays young forever. In the history of jeans, Levi has bought a softer crossover fabric than the original Canvas but has similar durability. This fabric originated from Nimes, a city in France, also known as "Serge de Nimes". Miners prefer this fabric and they call it "denim" ("de Nimes").

Not merely a fashion material, denim is also a cultural symbol, a lifestyle. It is always considered to be a fabric for workers and a manifestation of vigor, persistence and robustness.

Through the above details of denim's long history, everyone must think that France or the United States is not only the birthplace but also the best quality denim fabrics. But the truth is that Japan is the place where the fashion industry recognizes that the denim is the best.

This has been partly reflected in the documentary "Weaving Shibusa". The film is made by director Devin Leisher, which is considered a true lens of denim weaving in Japan.

"Weaving Shibusa" is a product formed from a thorough study of the denim world in Leisher's eyes. When Leisher realized that there were too few online materials available in this area, Leisher himself began to explore and draw in this documentary. Reportedly, the film has the cooperation of top Japanese denim companies such as The Flat Head, Fullcount, Japan Blue, Rampuya and Iron Heart.
