In order to generate more power from the wind, there must be strong winds. The higher the winds, the higher the winds will become. That made KiteGen Research company had the idea of creating one 'windmill' on elevation 2600 feet, approximately 792 meters equivalent.

This idea sounds like Pixar's cartoons or children's imaginations, but the truth is that KiteGen used a 60-square-meter kite, dropping at a height of 792 meters to generate electricity. When the winds bring the kite up, it will rotate the turbine and produce a power of about 40 kilowatts. When the kite reaches its maximum height, a motor will pull the kite back to the starting position to restart the cycle.

KiteGen Research is also planning a larger 450-square-meter kite with the ability to generate 3 megawatts of power, enough to power 9,000 homes. The company expects to complete the plan by 2011.
