Build solar power plant in HCMC

In the morning, First Solar of the US started construction of a solar panel manufacturing plant to generate electricity in Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City. The project has an investment of 300 million USD.

Solar panels manufactured by First Solar have advanced semiconductor technology and provide comprehensive photovoltaic solutions. When completed, this factory will have 4 production lines, attracting about 600 workers.

From the procurement of raw materials to the collection of waste and recycling products, First Solar focuses on creating renewable energy solutions, economic efficiency and environmental protection.

Mr. Bruce Sohn, President of First Solar, said: ' The plant will play a key role in the plan of doubling First Solar's 2012 power output and further reducing solar power costs .' He also hopes to cooperate more closely with Vietnam in the future.

First Solar has photovoltaic plants in the US, Malaysia, Germany and France. Currently, the total output of the company is 1,400 MW. The company wants to double power output to more than 2,700 MW next year and the project to build two new plants is part of the plan. Two factories use new generation ultra-thin photovoltaic batteries and are designed to increase capacity.
