Launching National Science and Technology Development Fund

On February 26, the Ministry of Science and Technology (Science and Technology) held a ceremony to launch the National Science and Technology Development Fund. The Fund has two forms of operation: 100% funding and scientific research funding. The Fund's head office is located at 38, Ngo Quyen, Hanoi.

The Fund Management Council consists of 9 members, representing representatives of regulatory agencies, research institutes and universities. The Fund's executive agency is headed by Mr. Phan Hong Son, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Dinh Tien is the Chairman.

The Fund has two forms of operation: 100% funding and scientific research funding.

The maximum amount of funding is 100% for the following cases: basic research in the fields; perform unexpected and newly arising scientific and technological tasks; publishing scientific works funded by the Fund; published research works in prestigious international journals; costs directly related to registration of intellectual property rights for inventions, layout designs of semiconductor integrated circuits, plant varieties .

In addition, the activities of the National Science and Technology Development Fund funded research scholarships in the national key fields, partly funded for young scientists (under 35 years) to attend conferences and seminars. study internationally and have scientific reports presented at conferences and seminars .

According to Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Van Phong, along with the establishment of the National Science and Technology Development Fund, some provinces and enterprises have also formed Funds for scientific research. Currently the Ministry of Science and Technology has submitted to the Government to establish two types of funds: the National Innovation Fund (approved by the National Assembly) and the Venture Capital Fund with the purpose of forming production-business and application enterprises soon. and technological innovation that contributes to bringing science and technology products to life.
