Libol - from the electronic library to the digital library

In the era of IT is gradually replacing manual means, all types of management from a machine to how to receive knowledge of each individual . are gradually being digitized. Libraries are also not out of this general trend.

* How long can you tell the Library Information Center of VNU (Library of VNU) has been using Libol library software? What is the difference of VNU library before and after application of Libol software?

Library of VNU started using Libol software since 2001. Basically, the software solves all the work of a library, closing the path of a book from supplementing, classifying to borrowing. . The whole operation of the Center has been conducted through the network. Ensure reasonable, scientific, accurate and save a lot of time and cost. Compared to previous library management software, Libol has many outstanding advantages.

* A library often stores huge volumes of books and documents. So to what extent does Libol allow a library to store the volume of documents?

Libol allows storing up to 1 million records. Currently, our library is working with more than 100,000 records and in the future will update large volumes of data.

* Does the National Library have orientation on domestic and international interlibrary loan cooperation? Does Libol software support this need?

Currently Libol has an ILL module that can support inter-library borrowing. VNU is oriented and is actively preparing to be ready to participate in the inter-library loan cooperation program, in the short term, between the Vietnamese university libraries and the national libraries of national universities Southeast Asia (AUNILO).

* Does the E-library of the VNU benefit the online users in general or only serve the students and staff of VNU?

* Users (from a lookup point of view) are particularly interested in what points when exploiting information at the website of Information Library of Vietnam National University?

It is possible to search for information according to many criteria, especially to use the databases purchased by VNU Information and Library Center as well as electronic learning materials produced by the Center. In addition to bibliographic documents, readers are also provided with full-text and audiovisual documents in many fields of high scientific value. At the same time the site is arranged scientifically easy to use.

* Currently, the general trend in the world is that libraries gradually shift from electronic library to digital library, how is the National Library of Vietnam prepared for that development? According to him, does Libol meet this need?

We have a plan to collect and produce digital databases. In the immediate future, the source of gray literature of VNU (scientific research projects, thesis, dissertation) and textbooks, textbooks . to support readers can find and exploit the Center's resources through VNUnet network.

The volume of data is large and requires a lot of time and manpower to implement. With positive results from the fact that Libol is currently running very well with the appreciation of experts, we believe that Libol can provide optimal support for moving from an electronic library to a digital library.
