Life continues in the body 2 days after death

After humans die, some genes inside the body continue to function strongly for about two days.

The death of a human is more like the slow process of a computer than the instant on and off of the light switch, according to Fox News. In a study published in the Open Biology magazine in late January, scientists at the University of Washington, USA, found that many genes in the body still maintained life about two days after the heart stopped.

When investigating the death of rats and zebrafish, the team found that the activity of most genes decreased. But 548 zebrafish genes and mouse 515 genes have strong levels of information RNA (mARN) activity , which lasts 48 hours after the animal dies. They call it "the sunset of death".

"Not all cells die after the organism dies. Different types of cells have different lifespans, division times, and ability to recover from stress. It is likely that some cells remain. Living and trying to fix themselves, especially stem cells , " Seeker quoted Peter Noble, the study's lead author, as saying.

Noble believes that the same process occurs in humans. These genes are linked to fetal development, immunity, inflammatory diseases and cancer. Cells can "try to repair themselves" like the body is still alive.

According to the study group, some genes are activated because they have mechanisms to prevent themselves from escaping. This phenomenon explains why transplant recipients are prone to cancer.
