The future of super-fast computers like fiction films, fast Internet connections like DC's 'Flash' superhero is coming to fruition with the advent of this technology.

Researchers at Stanford University have discovered and studied an optical pathway that uses silicon to bend light to the right. Specifically, when light shines on the device, there are holes in which silicon sends the next wavelength, so that the material is directed toward the open space, breaking the boundaries by the light spectrum.

This technology is still very new but it has been designed to be compatible with existing fiber optic networks which in theory will improve data transfer rates. However, all is just the starting point. What the scientists are aiming for is far from over.

It is developing computer chips that use photonic technology to replace the current generation of microprocessors. This will result in optimal processing speed.

Of course, much more research is needed before making that wish come true. But this is a key to unlocking the future.

We hope that the researchers will quickly develop this technology into practice. Make the computer look like it was only in the holywood movie into real life.
