Lobster can be

Scientists believe that in a lobster's body contains a chemical that helps them live for a long time, and this may be an element of access to eternal life.

Although lobsters are still susceptible to death when infected or attacked, they can theoretically live for a long time. With lobster, living longer is not synonymous with dying.

Telegraph quoted Simon Watt as saying that there is an enzyme in the lobster cell called Telomerase . This enzyme helps the DNA sequence to be destroyed when the cell is replicated.

When cells in the body die or are replaced, DNA strands will be shorter. The erosion of DNA sequences is believed to be the main cause of aging, because this genetic sequence is badly damaged to be able to produce complete new cells.

The enzyme Telomerase prevents DNA destruction by repairing telomeres in cells, which means that cells can be replicated many times.

Telomerase studies can support the use of enzymes to increase longevity and prevent cancer.

Lobster usually weighs about 0.5-1kg. However, in 2009, a lobster caught at the coast of Maine, USA, weighs nearly 9kg. It is estimated that this giant shrimp has a lifespan of up to 140 years.
