Lose weight by ... frozen nerve

The anomaly of American scientists helps patients lose weight quickly by blocking the "I'm empty" signal from the stomach to the brain, making them no longer hungry.

The experiment has just been presented at the annual Association of Imaging Diagnostics Association in Los Angeles - USA. According to Dr. David Prologo, researcher on interventional radiology at Emory Medical University (Atlanta - USA), this technology has helped volunteers eliminate 14% of the excess weight, equivalent to 3 , 6% of body weight for 90 days without using any other method.

10 volunteers from the age of 27-60, a body mass index of 30-37 (mild to moderate obesity equivalent) participated in the trial.

Technology aimed at vagus nerves (also known as nerve 10, vagus nerve ), is the largest sympathetic plant nerve of humans controlling motor function, feeling in the neck , chest, abdomen and also some organs such as heart, lungs, urinary system, digestive system, genital system .

In the first experiment, the doctors took a CT scan to determine the location where the vagus nerve was needed and a small needle was inserted into the patient's back. This needle releases argon gas and cools the nerve at sufficient temperature, causing it to become numb and prevent the stomach's "I'm empty" signal from reaching the brain. This means that the person will not be hungry!

The procedure may take you a few drops of blood but none of the volunteers have complications.

The team said this cooling effect will gradually decrease within 8 months to 1 year so participants can be confident that they will not die because they are not hungry. Moreover, this process does not completely eliminate the need to eat. Nerves have a front body and a posterior body, scientists only freeze 1 in 2. Therefore, appetite is reduced only, not completely lost.

According to Dr. Prologo, 8 months to 1 year is enough time for a person to lose weight and enough for their body to regulate a more appropriate diet and keep a lower weight without going on continuous treatment.

If you want to completely eliminate excess weight, take the opportunity to reduce cravings and exercise more and eat healthier, certainly the weight reduction will be even more impressive.
