One day, the mathematician felt tired of doing math. He decided to get a job at the firefighters team.
The fire brigade captain looked at the mathematician and said: "You look good. I will be happy to accept you to work if you pass this little test."
He took the mathematician to the firefighters' training site, where a barrel, a fire hydrant and a faucet were placed. He asked:
- Come on! Now suppose you are walking on the road and you see a burning fire, how will you handle it?
The mathematician answered immediately without hesitation:
- I will immediately install the water pipe into the fire hydrant, turn on the water and extinguish the fire.
- Very good. Now there's just one more question for you. What would he do if he was walking and found the box unburnt.
The mathematician thought for a moment and replied
- I will light it!
Firefighters shouted:
- What! How terrible! Why can you do that?
Mathematician casually:
- Nothing. Doing so will bring the problem to the problem just solved!
