Mexico: Strong earthquake in Chiapas
A magnitude 6.5 earthquake was recorded in the Pacific, the region in front of the southern coast of Mexico on October 16, according to the US Geological Survey Center (USGS).
The earthquake occurred at 14g41 (local time) with the epicenter at a depth of 75 km below the sea surface and from the city of Suchiate, Chiapas state bordering Guatemala, about 21 km west. According to local authorities, panic occurred when residents and office staff poured out of the wobbly buildings.
USGS said this was a strong earthquake. Chiapas state government has not yet fully recorded the extent of the damage from this earthquake but said earthquake tremors have spread throughout the state of Chiapas, especially people in Tapachula border city and along the Thai coast. Binh Duong feels very well. Even, many people confirmed that tremors spread to neighboring Guatemala and El Salvador countries.
