Mexico: Strong earthquake, thousands of people panic
A strong earthquake happened last night (5-7) rocked many areas of southern Mexio and made thousands of people panic to run out to the street. There is no information about damage or casualties.
According to the US Geological Watch, the 6.1-magnitude magnitude earthquake occurred at 8:09 pm local time, the epicenter was near the capital Tuxtla Gutierrez of Chiapas state.
The earthquake caused many buildings to shake, broken windows. The power supply to the city is also cut. Thousands of people panicked and ran away from home.
The tremor also rocked many buildings in Villahermosa, Tabasco state. Rurico Dominguez, a Tabasco state official, said the earthquake caused power outages in some areas but there were no reports of injuries.
In Guatemala, people also felt the earthquake while in the capital Mexico City, some buildings were also shaken, causing many residents to run away from home.
