Microsoft announced Windows Home Server Beta 2
Microsoft has just released a second beta (beta) version of the new server system - Windows Home Server for connecting and managing Windows Vista PC systems, devices and home printers.
Windows Home Server Beta 2 is tested by more than 1,000 Microsoft employees and hardware and software partners. Microsoft is expected to soon announce plans to expand the product's testing program.
Reportedly, Microsoft introduced Windows Home Server at the CES 2007 Consumer Electronics Fair last January in Las Vegas. Expected later this year, HP will have the first server version (HP MediaSmart Server) integrated Windows Home Server.
Currently, Microsoft only plans to distribute Windows Home Server through OEMs, not directly to customers.
