Microsoft secretly launched Windows Home Server
The Windows Home Server version was secretly released to the US market at a price of 190 USD. Users can now purchase this version of the operating system through the retail system of Newegg.com electronics vendor.
Last July, Windows Home Server was released to PC manufacturers, but Microsoft said it did not intend to sell the operating system separately. Instead, the operating system will only provide device manufacturers, build and develop a separate product system on this operating system platform. Users will only get Windows Home Server through purchasing those products.
But with the release of Windows Home Server through Newegg's retail system, it seems that Microsoft has changed its mind, allowing users to freely build their own devices on the platform. This operating system version.
Windows Home Server is advertised as a central solution to connect household devices to increase access efficiency to share data such as images, videos, digital music, data backup . in a family environment. In addition, the operating system supports a number of additional features such as enabling TiVo connectivity to allow users to transfer videos from the PC directly to the set-top box to the TV screen.
Currently manufacturers have not announced the exact time of launching device products running on the Windows Home Server platform. HP is the first company to show off the product but has not yet confirmed the official launch date.
