Microsoft has said it will quickly release a patch to ensure that iPod users will no longer have trouble using the player with Windows Vista operating system.

Microsoft: There will be images 1 New patches for Vista will address the problems that have previously appeared on iPods. IPod users often complain that their device has problems after using the "Safely Remove Hardware" hardware removal feature to disconnect the computer from the music player.

Although Apple issued the iTunes 7.1 upgrade earlier this month to fix some of Vista's compatibility issues, the "Safely Remove Hardware" error still exists and the company thinks it's due to Microsoft. Apple has recommended that users should not use the disconnect feature on.

According to Apple, the iTunes 7.1 upgrade hasn't solved compatibility issues between iPod and 64-bit versions of Windows XP and Vista.
