Motorcycles powered by wind power

Fossil fuels do not exist forever and we need to have alternatives in the future.

Motorbikes run on wind power after the end of the world

Our beloved Earth is about to enter a dry and exhausted period, hoping that humans will not have to live in the desert after post-apocalyptic times like Mad Max. However, everything must come, fossil fuels will gradually run out and people need to prepare in advance to support the needs of future life.

To prevent the case of fuel exhaustion in the future, the project of wind-powered motorbikes was born. " I used to rent a motorbike and run through Glencoe plateau in Scotland in 2013," said Alistair McInnes, an industrial design student at RMIT University in Australia.

"When I was in the middle of this plateau, I suddenly realized, after a few more years there would be no way for me and everyone to experience such journeys. And so I envisioned a kind of design. New motorcycle design, enabling people to travel comfortably without having to worry about gasoline issues ".

This car is called Strangeword , designed specifically under the Australian environment in the assumption of 2050. This is the time when McInnes predicts that fossil fuel sources will be few, if not exhausted.

"The special design of this vehicle solves two major problems around traveling in Australia, which is the vast environment that they have to go through and how to provide enough fuel for vehicles. "he said. "This motor's maneuverability and renewable energy can help it work well in harsh environments until 2050"

On the chassis of Strangeworld there will be a collapsible wind turbine compartment to collect this energy source. Besides, this car also uses photovoltaic panels to absorb solar energy to supplement the necessary energy. All of these energies will be transmitted into a battery box mounted inside the vehicle to power the operation.

It is known that McInnes designed this car within 8 weeks and assembled it in 6 weeks, costing about 7,000 AUD (approximately 117 million VND). At the moment, this vehicle can run up to 80 km / h in 15 minutes, using hybrid engines placed from the network.

According to McInnes, the final test version will be able to run 500 kilometers on a single charge, using a engine designed specifically for Strangeworld. Thus, the current template is only the original idea and the future designs promise to be changed and improved more.

The goal of this car is that customers who want to go camping, traveling and those who like to go " trekking " , all they need to do is just a motorbike and enjoy a round trip. around Australia without having to follow the roads with gas stations.

Strangeworld can charge during the day and use that energy to operate at night; or the driver can run through the day and rest for the next day, at the same time letting the car recharge for the next trip.

Besides, McInnes also intends to bring his car to appear in the next Mad Max movie. "If director George Miller wants to use my Strangeworld as a movie props, I'm happy and ready."

The design is currently participating in the award on the James Dyson Award website, which is an award that is awarded to individuals with the best design ideas. Participants are engineering and engineering students or alumni who have graduated in the past four years.
