New progress in wind power generation
US Terra Moya Aqua (TMA) has developed a new vertical wind turbine, which can significantly increase performance compared to traditional propeller designs.
Officials of the company introduced the new turbine on November 5 and said the design has attracted the attention of many customers in the US and other countries. " There are a lot of customers who want to buy this turbine, " said Ron Taylor, chief executive of TMA.
TMA says conventional turbine turbines only have the ability to convert 25% to 40% of wind energy into electricity. But TMA's new turbine design achieves 43% to 45% conversion efficiency, and with the same wind it can produce up to 80% more power than the old turbine.
This electricity is generated even when the turbine rotates very slowly, making the turbine less noise and less dangerous for wild birds. And because their altitude does not exceed 30m, these turbines can be used in areas where the older turbine turbine turbines are not installed, which is much higher.
Jim Geringer, a TMA board member, said the new turbine design will help convince those who are still skeptical about the potential of wind power.
